Video: Great Leaders Anchor to Vision

Video Highlights

Definition: Vision is a compelling destination.

Vision must be clear enough for you and others to see it in their mind’s eye, and see themselves in it.

Current Reality is a neutral assessment of where you are now.

A compelling vision creates a tension (creative energy) that literally pulls current reality in its direction. Creative energy is intrinsically motivating to people–so tap into it!

In the absence of vision focus often goes to fear–the “what ifs” or unknowns. In these instances, people hunker down doing “just enough to get by” and feel a sense of distress (emotional energy) that keeps them from making extraordinary effort (like being risk-taking or innovative).

If you’re interested in learning more about the power of vision and beginning to give form to your own vision, check out my book “F the Housewives: Stop Watching and Start Living.” Also, keep an out for a new white paper on Vision that will be added to the Leaders’ Toolkit later this month.
